Community Villages Australia (CVA), the business entity behind The Village Glen and Ti Tree Lodge complexes, was established by the visionary Chas Jacobsen in 1979. CVA is wholly owned by the Jacobsen family.
The Jacobsen family “conceived” The Village Glen over 42 years ago as a community that takes us back to how the suburbs were in the 60’s… safe, friendly and engaged. Today it comprises 569 independent living villas and 42 independent living apartments – not to mention restaurants, shops, bowling greens, gym, swimming pool and even a 9 hole golf course.
The Jacobsen family started development of The Village Glen in 1980 with a commitment to ensuring that retirees could have independence, quality of lifestyle, freedom and security, alongside new friendships and the support of caring, professional staff. Through the The Village Glen, CVA reflects these values.
CVA’s commitment continues. The Jacobsen family believes it has a responsibility to provide a continuum of care for residents and the Peninsula community. They purchased the run-down Ti-Tree Gardens Nursing Home that had fallen into receivership. They leased temporary accommodation for existing residents, demolished the old building and started rebuilding.
The new Ti Tree is built on a hospitality model – akin to a hotel’s host and guest philosophy. Our professional staff, who are ladies and gentleman, caring for our resident ladies and gentlemen.
Ti Tree employs over 200 staff to support the 224 beds – 212 single rooms and 12 double rooms. Ti Tree guests will have access to boutique shops, eateries, wellness facilities, a library and theatrette. CVA is also committed to the security and care of their guests – low to high care, dementia and palliative care – and guests will be given access to nursing staff through modern electronic devices and call systems. A Day-Centre, to provide relief for families and carers, is also provided.
