Chas Jacobsen, Founder
Chas, the founder of The Village Glen, still offers the same vision, drive and creativity that he has provided since the inception of the Village in 1980. He brings this passion to the development of Ti Tree Lodge in delivering to the Mornington Peninsula a new benchmark in residential age care for our older Australians.
Chas’ love of the Mornington Peninsula, where he has resided for some 50 years, led to the commencement of the Village Glen and more recently Ti Tree. As an industry leader and innovator, Chas believes elderly retirees requiring residential care deserve to do so in style and comfort, and Ti Tree was born.
Peter Nilsson, CEO
Peter joined Chas and the Village Glen in April 1993 as the General Manager of the Chas Jacobsen Group of companies. As CEO Peter has an overall management role of both the Village Glen and Ti Tree. He brought with him a wealth of experience in business management and customer service. He has been instrumental to the growth of the business and continues to provide a compassionate understanding of the needs of all Village residents and Ti Tree guests.
Peter is responsible for the marketing and sales, and budgets, of both the Village Glen and Ti Tree facilities. Residents and their families are able to talk with Peter about any issue including their future care needs.
AS a CEO, Peter is responsible for leading the organisation and support its key personnel to continue on Chas’s journey and become an industry leader in residential aged care services.
Damien Malone - Operations Manager - Residential and Community Services
Damien joined Ti Tree Lodge as the Operations Manager in January 2015.
Damien joins the Ti Tree organisation with over 15 years expereince in senior management roles in aged care across metropolitan and rural facilities in roles including CEO, Director of Nursing and Facility Manager.
Damien is a passionate advocate of the provision of excellence in aged care with a focus on ensuring everything we do supports residents to continue to enjoy their interests and passions once they move into facility care.
Tommy Gordon – Executive Chef
Heading up the catering team at Ti Tree is Executive Chef, Tommy Gordon. Hailing from Edinburgh in bonny Scotland, Tommy brings to the team over thirty five years of experience in the hospitality industry.
Having trained in dome of Britain’s premier hotels and restaurants, Tommy’s passion for his craft has seen him cook for the famous and influential including members of the royal family and celebrities such as Sean Connery. Tommy was Executive Chef at the Hilton Hotel in England which involved doing food concept roll outs and procurement tenders for 95 hotels throughout the UK. He was also Executive Chef for all catering on Lord Montague of Beaulieu’s estate in Hampshire, England. Tommy worked in Gabon, Africa promoting Scottish cuisine for the Intercontinental Hotel group in the late eighties. He also did various pieces of television and radio work and regular food features in magazines during the mid-late nineties.
Tommy’s career is littered with awards, including “Chef Of The Year” in 1992. Ti Tree is delighted to have secured the services an Executive Chef of international reputation to the Mornington Peninsula.
A decision to move his family to Australia in 2005 for a new lifestyle led Tommy to turn his culinary expertise to the aged care industry where he could exercise his conviction that the senior residents of this great country deserve nothing but the best when it comes to food and customer service. With the support of his hand picked team, Tommy’s aim is to make Ti Tree the benchmark for the future of catering in this particular area of hospitality.
